BB King Giclée Print
BB King Giclée Print
In 2002, Crumb drew a portrait for a serigraph edition which was to be signed by BB King and R. Crumb. BB's management didn't really understand Crumb's artwork, or the influences Crumb was using from the mid-'50's Blues album covers and show flyers from that period. So they rejected Crumb's full-length portrait. This resulted in the top half of the portrait being modified. But finally, this portrait–the original version– is presented in full color as Crumb first intended, using Crumb's excellent color guide and mid-fifties R&B poster references.
