Footsy
This print of Footsy is part of Dr. Burstein’s collection of Crumb prints, which means it’s framed with archival matting using UV protected glass. There were 30 colors used to print this edition. It was printed and released in 1994. It's numbered & signed by Crumb using a hard pencil–that means the number and signature are hard to read because the graphite is so light. But you can read, easily enough, that this is print number 149/200.
The black wooden frame is 28” x 34.” The image size is 18” x 25.” This was the first serigraph edition printed and published by Wildwood Serigraphs, but it wasn’t until the third edition (Robert Johnson) that certificates of authenticity were created to accompany each print. Again, the photograph darkens in the lefthand corner, but in actuality, the antique white matte board is a uniform color, more accurately represented in the top righthand corner of the photograph.
