The Klezmorim • Streets of Gold

This print is from Dr. Edward Burstein’s collection. This serigraph is from a 150 print edition published by French printer and publisher Alain Toupin in 2003. It is an enlargement of the album cover Crumb created for the Berkeley-based band in 1978. It’s numbered, signed and dated by Crumb. There is no certificate of authenticity. This is print number 120/150. The print is in mint condition.

This is a 15 color serigraph.  This is not like any of the other Yazoo-based serigraphs in Dr. Burstein's collection, but rather it's released on Arhoolie Records (LP-3011), in a pioneering 1978 album, Streets of Gold by Klezmorim. Crumb's art captures old-world Yiddish/klezmer musicians jamming on a boat deck. You can see that the scene is in New York harbor and notice a Mr Natural-looking character is standing on the side watching the band play.

The black wooden frame is 25” x 26.” The image size is 16” x 16.” The antique white mat is archival. The glass is UV protected. As with all of Dr. Burstein’s prints, this print is sold with your satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.
