NAKED LADIES Signed and Numbered Print by LYNDA BARRY

In 1984, Lynda Barry wrote a book called Naked Ladies Naked Ladies Naked Ladies! In the book she drew 52 playing cards (with two jokers) with a different naked lady on each card. It was a tongue and cheek reference to the adult playing cards that were created in the 1950's and 1960's, and also played a part in the book's plot.

In 1995, Lynda and I selected 20 of those cards in a 4 x 5 format to be printed in a 200 print serigraph edition. Once complete, Lynda numbered, signed and dated each print. I've only sold half of the edition–as a publisher I've let her down. But as a printer, I did a great job. The edition is printed on 22"x 30" Rives BFK archival paper. We used 24 colors to print the edition, the last being a clear varnish which covers each playing card. [The varnish interfered with photographing the print, as the sheen reduced the chroma and brightness of the ink colors.] Lynda and I were both very happy with the edition–I'm just not very good at marketing or selling editions. Sorry Lynda! But my weakness is your gain, as this fantastic edition–printed and signed almost 30 years ago–is still available.
