What Luck! Signed but not numbered Giclée print
This is a peculiar edition because so little is known about it. We do know that Alex Goldsmith (Crumb’s brother-in-law) came up with the idea to create “an edition” of this image. He had some giclée prints made of this image, but we don’t know how many–probably not many, a couple of dozen at the most. He wanted to keep the edition open in case lots of people wanted them, so none of them were numbered. Crumb signed them as Alex Goldsmith brought them to him, but when the numbers never materialized as Mr. Goldsmith had hoped, they walked away from the project leaving a small amount of these signed prints here and there, but with none of them numbered or dated. Dr. Burstein bought one of these prints and is now selling it with his guarantee for your satisfaction or your money back. The print is in mint condition because it was framed with archival matting and framed with UV protection glass. The black wooden frame is almost 18” x 20.” The image size is 7.5” x 9.”
